We are often searching for answers, this is probably one of the primary reasons people turn to divination tools. We don't decide to visit a psychic because everything is going well. Maybe we are looking to take a next step in a new direction or something has drastically changed and we need help dealing with it. Whatever the reason we turn to the tarot cards.
The Fool is is often considered the first card of the deck. He sets out on his journey to discover the world and all the truths, mystical or otherwise. He is excited and doesn't realize he is about to take his journey through the characters of the tarot, just like you may be doing when you pick up this deck.
If you select The Fool, you or someone you know could be this character, don't take any offense, for you may be ready to partake on a journey. The Fool is getting ready for an adventure, hence his knapsack carrying only the essentials. There is an implication of beautiful scenery surrounding him. His white rose in his hand and the feather from his hat show his innocence and how new or "fresh-faced" he is to this journey.
The Fool, like all of us, does not travel alone. At his feet there is a little dog which, in our society, we often consider little dogs to be "yappy". This dog could be a literal dog, your spirit guides or your own intuition serving as a helpful and sometimes warning voice during your journey.
Why do you need this inner voice or your intuition? If you are The Fool you may notice that sometimes you're too busy looking at the bigger picture and not the next step in your journey. As the fool moves forward he is looking at the world before him, but not at the cliff he is about to walk off. So be excited about your new journey, or the trip you just completed, but always be aware of the immediate issues or logistics.
A journey, while fun, could be a chance for you to refocus your energy, and experience a time of growth, whether creatively, intellectually or learning how to feel the divine love that surrounds us. This is a time for you. You can always ask other people for advice, but I do urge that you listen to yourself, you or at least your higher self, knows what you want. Now is the time to do what is best for you. We all control our own journeys, now is your time to do that. It may seem scary, but that is natural.
